For starters I am down .5lbs this week. I'll take it - every little bit helps. Would like to lose 4-6 more lbs before our cruise in 3 weeks, but if it doesn't happen, that's ok. I'm gonna work out, eat well, listen to my body, and go from there :)
So current weight - 154lbs.
Monday - run; chest,shoulders, triceps
Tuesday - plyo
Wednesday - run; back and biceps
Thursday - yoga
Friday - run; legs and back
Saturday - kenpo
Sunday - cardio x and/or x stretch

Week 6 P90X is completed! Woohoo! I won't have it in my possession over the weekend, so I'm going to just get a run in Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Well that's the plan anyway. My allergies are acting up, so I may end up laying low all weekend - we'll see how things go :)
Melinda and I ran a bit more of our mile on Wednesday. Hoping by next Friday to be able to run the whole thing. I think its possible - especially if I get to run over the weekend.
That's it for now....
I'll either weigh in tomorrow morning or Friday.

let's talk about running
I'm not a runner. I don't love it. Actually I'm not a huge exercise fan in general. But I know it's necessary to be healthy and I love the results, so I do it. And I love how I feel after a workout. I guess maybe I like it more than I think I do....
But running....it just seems so....fit! And I feel so not fit. But I'm doing it anyway b/c it seems like a good thing to do lol. It's a pride thing. I want to be "one of those people". You know - the kind that when you ask what their weekend plans are they say "housework, soccer practice, laundry...oh and I'm running a marathon." Wait back that train up - a marathon you say! How impressive! I guess I want to be a runner. And apparently they only way to be one is to actually run. Who would have thought?
So I decided to find a 5K in November and begin working towards it. And then I saw the "turkey trot" and thought "what better day to run my tail off then on a day dedicated to eating everything in sight" Well it's dedicated to thankfulness too of course - but I was more excited in that moment about earning my turkey dinner and maybe keeping a little more of it from going to my hips. So that was that. I asked my friend Melinda if she would run it with me and she agreed. And now we're runners (in training lol - we're currently walk/runners!)
So Monday was our first time out. We did ok. We walk/ran about a mile. Ran as much as we walked. It was nice to have someone with me - motivation, competition, etc. She's a little better than me - I got a stitch in my side rather early on :( But it's ok!
It was actually a lot of fun and though I was a little stiff today, my legs weren't near as angry as I thought they would be. They were more angry when I informed them that we must do yoga tonight. Yoga is hard stuff sometimes!
Tomorrow we plan to go out again and will be pushing ourselves to run a bit more and walk a bit less. We'll see how it goes. Maybe we will be 5K ready by Thanksgiving. We can always hope right?

hello
In order to not clog up the family blog with all of my stuff, I decided to create a "fitness" blog. Why not right?
Anyway - just gonna jump right in. My goals are to lose 20lbs and tone up. It's slow going and frustrating at times, but I'm trying lol.
Currently I weigh 154 lbs. I am on week 6 of P90X. I'm starting couch to 5K tomorrow on my lunch break. A friend has agreed to run with me. I'm planning to run a 5k on Thanksgiving - the turkey trot. Gotta start somewhere right?
That's it for now.
I plan to update here a couple of times a week to keep me accountable with my workouts, etc.
